Overview

A trail marathon (well, a bit more actually, as it's almost 28 miles) up to England's highest peak. Based from Keswick, the route follows beautiful lakeshore trails, from wooded valleys to spectacular high mountain trails, and takes you through some of the most dramatic rock scenery in the Lake District.

Description

This was the first race I had done in the Lake District and it was stunning. The route starts along the shores of Dentwater Lake, and then winds up toward Scaffel Pike. Everything except the back end of Scaffel Pike is well-marked and easy enough to follow. Plenty of streams on the ascent, too, if you want to refill your water bottles. A fantastic introduction to the full array of terrains and landscapes that the area has to offer.
