Description

The trail begins off of Rainbow Trail #1336: Hayden Creek to Bear Creek, at the intersection with the road (offshoot of Howard Creek Rd). It is clear to follow, although very overgrown. It makes a straight shot through gorgeous aspen meadows for the first mile, making only one switchback. Very quickly thereafter, the trail transitions into dense pine forest as it meanders alongside a creek. At the 2.5 mile mark, the trail steepens up to make it to treeline. A quick jaunt up into the basin puts you out at the lake.
