Features
River/Creek · Spring · Views · Waterfall
The road to the trailhead closes in winter. You may still run the trail from the road, making the run 4 miles round trip. The trail itself is not easily followed in winter, so map and compass navigational skills are a must. Proper equipment such as traction devices, snowshoes, or cross-county skis may be required depending on snow conditions.
Overview
A great out-and-back run to Rancheria Falls.
Need to Know
The small parking lot is free and doesn't require any special pass. There is a pit toilet at the trailhead. No water is available. Trash must be packed out.
Description
This is an out-and back run along a dirt trail to a great waterfall. While it's less than two miles, the smiles-per-mile ratio is quite high along this trail. If you'd like to learn more about this trail and others like it, attend a Weekend Explorers Class at your REI Co-op in Fresno!
Flora & Fauna
Pine trees, some spring and summer wildflowers, butterflies, cicadas, and coyote poop can be spotted on trail.
