Overview

This is an excellent run up to and around the Tiburon Peninsula. Expect views up to North Bay, Mount Tam, Sausalito, San Francisco, and even glimpses of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Need to Know

There's many criss-crossed trails along this route. You can't go too far wrong, but following the map will lead to some great views.

Description

Starting at the northern trailhead, make your way uphill along the Phyllis Ellman Trail. Expect some moderate grades and typically grassy, rolling terrain throughout.

Upon reaching the junction with the Ring Mountain Fire Road, make a left to continue uphill. Follow the road past numerous junctions until you find the final ascent to Ring Mountain. From the top, enjoy your achievement over a host of pleasant views before making your way back the way you came.

At the junction with the Loop Trail, make a right and head downhill through steep terrain to meet back up with the Phyllis Ellman Trail and your return to the trailhead.
