Overview

A 'wake up' river crossing at mile 1 ensures you get wet and cool to start. The majority of the route is well shaded, and all of the trails are easy to follow. Watch out for bikers and horseback riders.

Runner Notes

This is the course for the Taylor Mountain Half Marathon which is part of the Evergreen Trail Run Series. Visit the race website for more information and other events.

Description

Start off on the Holder Creek Trail crossing the river at about 1 mile (obvious crossing) before ascending up to Road K. Continue on Road K for 0.6 miles before turning left onto Road I. Road I dead ends into Beaver Pond/Road A. Turn left onto Hermit and then right onto Road H to loop back to the same intersection.

At the intersection make a left this time onto the other portion of Hermit to Sherwood Trail. Enjoy the long smooth downhill along Road G passing the south parking lot and joining the Carey Creek Trail. Then turn right onto Mt. Beaver/Boot Trail to a left turn on Road F to Whiskey Still to the Holder Ridge Trail.
