Description

Start from anywhere in Lake City or park near the wastewater treatment facility and head up the gravel road to the north to the trailhead, which is located right next to a gate leading into private property. The first 2.2 miles are fairly steep with a few sections with some loose rock. You'll enter a large aspen grove after about 1 mile. At 3.1 miles turn left onto an old roadbed (marked by a trail sign) and continue uphill for about a mile to the lake.
