Description

This trail begins a short distance along the Lake Shore Trail or via the small spur that connects both to the parking area and Cedar Creek Campground. The first 0.25 miles will be repeated to return to the parking area.

The trail starts off passing through meadows with a few trees offering intermittent shade. When it turns north, the trees get denser, and the shade more consistent. You'll pass a Shortcut that you could take to skip the northern section of the trail, which passes close to an oil pump.

The trail then turns southeast and parallels the park boundary. At the southern tip of the park, the trail turns north offering glimpses of Cedar Creek and passing along a marsh and the Lake Shore Trail's terminus before ending on itself.
