From the parking area at the end of CR 140 you'll have to follow the access road for about a hundred feet before you get to this pathway. It's all the same path; in fact the northeastern bit of this road will feel more like a separate road than the bit from the white entrance gate to the equestrian rest area.

The trail begins from the Lake Somerville Trailway and follows the edge of a forest with some shade. Once it joins the entrance spur and heads back north, the forest thickens up and offers more shade. A small bridge crosses a tributary of Yegua Creek. Shortly after, the access road enters a large wide open marsh area. Lots of herons and other water birds can be seen in the distance. There is no more shade for the rest of this trail.

The trail ends at an equestrian rest area and the Lake Somerville Trailway (note: the whole park is closed to equestrian use until further notice).
