A huge view of the Lemhi Mountains earned by steep climbing and left with a nice descent.

Description

Twelvemile Meadow Trail #101 begins at a cairn on the Goldbug Ridge Road and climbs relentlessly to the Twelvemile Meadows and a post capped by an Elk skull. Once at the top, the trail continues through the fence gate; bear right and contour across the sage meadow. The trail then enters a small forested section and comes out at the top of a large meadow with an old stock tank/water trough.

From the water trough begins a "meadow surf" and the vegetation is thick and lush making the trail difficult to follow. So run downhill through the grass and stay to the right-hand side of the crest of the meadow. Watch for large rocks through the tall grass. Toward the bottom of the meadow a good trail returns, crosses the shallow creek, and enters the woods.

From here the trail is is generally easy to follow as it descends through the trees, across sidehills, and crosses the creek a couple of times. Twelvemile Meadow Trail meets the Lime Creek Trail immediately after crossing Warm Springs Creek.
