Overview

This route takes runners on some pretty horse trails through diverse terrain at the Palm Bluff Conservation Area.

Description

Follow the sandy dirt road from the start to the short loop of the White Trail. The White Trail is mostly grassy doubletrack through open pine forest.

Loop back to main starting road, and go through a gate in the fence to access the main portion of the Red Trail. You'll head along a firebreak and to the right to start the Red Trail counterclockwise. It it a grassy doubletrack road for a bit. Then you transition onto a sandy road before cutting through the woods on a short singletrack section, over to the main road under powerlines.

Once back in the woods after the powerlines, you'll head through another gate in the fence and over to another sandy road. Cross a culvert/bridge over Deep Creek, and the trail heads into the woods for a good bit of singletrack, to the intersection with the Yellow Trail. Head right to continue counterclockwise.

The Yellow Trail starts as a grassy doubletrack, then turns to fun singletrack through thick woods on the north side. It turns back into grassy singletrack before joining intersection with Red Trail again. Turn right to stay on the Red Trail.

Shortly after this intersection, you'll head down to cross Deep Creek again, but this time there's no culvert or bridge. So your feet (or more) may get wet depending on how much it has rained lately. After the creek crossing, you'll stay in the woods through some nice singletrack, before coming to another gate in the fence to cross under the powerlines.

After the powerlines, you'll be back on grassy singletrack to the start of the Red Trail and the intersection with the White Trail. Turn right to head back down the start of the White Trail to the parking area.
