Description

The first part is flat and basically easy. At the tree line, the trail becomes more difficult due to rocks, grade, and tight turns.

At the fork, if you take a right, you'll face a steady climb on the north side of the loop. The south side of the loop trail is steeper and there are several large rocks to navigate so it is more difficult. There are two overlooks on the loop. Use the Punto de Coyote Vista Point Spur to access the upper overlook. Look for the bench at the overlook for views over Questa.

The distance from the East Trailhead to the West Trailhead is 6.45 miles on the overlapping Las Vistas de Questa Trail. It is about 80% singletrack. The trail is mostly easy with a few technical and rocky sections where you'll want to watch your footing.

Overall, it is easy to find. Watch for the brown sign about two miles north of Questa for Vistas de Questa. It is a part of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument (Wild Rivers).
