Description

This often muddy trail is a nice start to a loop around the Grout Pond Recreation Area within the Green Mountain National Forest. The area has relatively flat, low-lying terrain. The trail is marked with blue diamond blazes, and it is available for year-round use, but can be extremely wet and muddy at times.

The trail often forms a small creek bed through the forest. The trail is easy to follow with occasional downed trees managed by the US Forest Service. There are nice woodland views along the way. In winter, it is open to un-groomed skiing.

There are campgrounds and vault toilets available near the trailhead.
