Runner Notes

The path is mostly flat but has a few dips and ruts.

Description

The trail is a former service road for what used to be a limestone quarry. The road is fairly flat and level with a few pot holes where the rain has washed away some of the sand. The main trail is accessible by bike or foot and on the second and fourth Saturday you can access the parking area by car and cut out the mile each way to get to the unpaved trail. Note: there is very little shade on this trail and the insects can get bad during certain times of year.

Flora & Fauna

This is part of the great Florida birding trail network and is the nesting grounds of a few species of birds. The spur leads off into a bear habitat.
