Features Fall Colors

No horses. Stay off this trail if conditions are wet, especially during breakup. This is a north-facing trail, so it may take longer to thaw than Mooseberry Mesa itself.

Runner Notes

There are a couple of rooty areas and a couple of spots where the tread is tight, especially near the bottom of the loop. Over the years, trail maintenance (gravel) has made those narrow tread area a bit wider.

Description

This great trail is a short loop that branches off from Mooseberry Mesa Trail. This northern extension can be taken in either direction with similar features features experienced both ways. It has a few more tight climbing turns than some of the other trails, which makes this route more exciting.

The trail is usually accessed from Mooseberry Mesa.

Flora & Fauna

Birch and white spruce trees shade the trail, with understory shrubs and herbaceous plants lining the track.
