Overview

A wonderful run to great views of the valley including White Horse Ledge in North Conway. Bring some binoculars and maybe you'll be able to spot some rock climbers on the wall.

Need to Know

Ice in the springtime can be challenging to navigate. Plan that you might need to spend more than half your time running the top third because of this, especially on the way down.

Runner Notes

Ice can be found in springtime on the upper third of the trail.

Description

Great viewpoints start appearing about two-thirds of the way up, with the ultimate view at the top of the peak.

It may take the good part of a day to run up to the top and back, but you should have enough time for a good, long lunch break with a beautiful view at the top if you leave early enough.

The trail is well-marked (with yellow markers) until the last 0.5 miles or so.

Toward the top of the trail, ferns, lichen, and mushrooms become more prevalent as it is more damp up there.
