Description

This passage of the AZT starts at the south end of Parker Canyon Lake. The trail heads west and then north through the Canelo Hills where you can expect some shade from the surrounding trees and bushes. Continuing north, the trail rises and falls along hills and valleys until it begins to descend into Pauline Canyon, bending to the west.

The next and final climb of this passage is to the top of the Canelo Ridge. From here, the trail traverses along the ridge until its rapid descent towards FR 799 and the culmination of this passage at the Canelo Pass Trailhead.
