This is a short trail, and it's great for kids or out-of-towners who want to get a feel for the Boise outdoors but who may not be experienced trail users. Be sure to bring sun protection and plenty of water and try to avoid the heat of mid-day, as this trail sees very little shade. In addition, this trail climbs about 600 ft., and the though mild, the grade is steady for the 2.5 mile duration of the trail.

You'll see and hear meadowlarks, redtailed hawks, kestrels, and the displays of lupine and arrowleaf balsamroot are spectacular in April and May.
