Runner Notes

The various trail ascents some very steep inclines, and roots and rocks are a trip hazard, so be wary where you put your feet!

Description

The Range Trail connects three iconic Adirondack high peaks; Upper Wolfjaw, Armstrong and Gothics. While not for the faint of heart, the effort that you put into this trail is certainly worth the views and the bragging rights.

As with many Adirondack trails, don't expect too many switchbacks, and much of your elevation gain will be made in scrambles up technical, rocky faces. Treacherous even in the best of conditions, the trails deteriorate in the rain, leaving them muddy and slick. Appropriate caution should be taken, but experienced runners won't have too much of a problem on this trail.
