Overview

A single loop course, the Tamalpa Headlands 50k takes runners on a tour of the coast and forests featuring beautiful views of coastal bluffs, ridges, wildflowers and redwoods. The course is run on a mix of singletrack and fire road. In 2015, the race hosted the USATF Trail 50k Championships.

Description

Since the inaugural race in 1998, the Tamalpa Headlands 50k has continued to challenge runners with its 7,300 feet of elevation change while rewarding them with the incredibly beautiful views of Marin County's most famous trails. In 2015, the race hosted the USATF Trail 50k Championships.

The single loop race which is run on a mix of singletrack and fire road, features such trails as Coastal, Miwok, Steep Ravine and the Dipsea which provide the scenic backdrop of redwoods and coastal bluffs.

The race starts and finishes near Muir Beach which is minutes from downtown San Francisco and takes runners on a tour of Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Tennessee Valley, Pirates Cove, and Rodeo Beach.
