Runner Notes

Rock hopping, water crossings, steep at the top.

Description

This is a steep trail which keeps crossing the creek over and over again, not so fun at high water. Bring poles for balance if you feel the need and pick the right boulders to hop across.

The water crossings used to have some log bridges, but those were washed out by Irene.
The trail isn't obvious to find on the top end and this top section is the steepest. To reward you, it offers very nice views.

This trail starts from the Phelps Trail at the John's Brook Lean-tos and heads towards the top of Big Slide Mountain.
