Description
The Mount Angeles Summit Climbers Trail starts from a signed junction with the
Mount Angeles Trail, just as the
Mount Angeles Trail turns sharply east. The Mount Angeles Summit Climbers Trail is a primitive, somewhat less maintained trail than others in this area. Head around the western side of Mount Angeles resisting the temptation to leave the faint trail and scramble up the first notch that comes into view. Instead, follow the trail through a rocky meadow and into a more treed area.
Beware of rotten snow as late as July and August. When the trail peters out, climb the last gully northeast of the summit. Spectacular views can be had from the summit in good weather. Do not climb beyond your limit (some users call this a class 3 approach)!
Flora & Fauna
Bears and mountain goats.
