Description

Start this run from behind the picnic shelter in the Elwah Campground. The trail heads north, gently at first along the base of the hillside. Soon the climb starts, contouring through the forest. After a creek crossing, the grade increases noticeably as a ridge must be surmounted. After a series of short, steep switchbacks, the trail ends abruptly at a high point with views of the Elwah River Valley area.

Due to washout on Hot Springs Road, park at Madison Falls trailhead then run down the road to the Bypass trail on the left hand side of the road. The Bypass trail will lead you to the Cascade Rock Trail. After the summit, continue another 1/3 mile for a second summit with a clearer view to the west.
