A pretty break in a winter storm, looking directly west of the trail towards San Tan Mountain. This wash is about 0.5 miles from the south end of the Dynamite Trail.

On the back side of this formation, the wash has carved a shallow cave into the rock. You'll see it coming down from the JC trail peak.

About 2/3 way through the hike, at about 1/4 the elevation. Trail goes from gully w/small rocks (here) to a little steeper with larger rocks, pretty quick. The modestly steeper section is only about 400m of hike.

South end of the trail. Arizona evenings can't be beat. Don't let the paved trail fool you - 10-20% grades...coming within a half mile.

Looking North, at 1750 ft. About a mile from the North trailhead (Dynamite/Goldmine intersection). Views are great the whole trail.

The mountain gets really pretty after a few days of rain. Some Rye, Flowers, Cacti and Phoenix in the distance.
