Singletrack trail leaves the PCT at about 3 miles from Pacific Crest Trailhead At Big Lake. The trail starts with a mild incline and steadily rises to reach the ridge line.

Once on the ridge line, the trail climbs more aggressively. Generally speaking the most secure footing was closest to the ridgeline, and the path primarily stayed on the easterly side of the ridge.

The higher portion of the ridge turns into Class 3 climbing, and there is a lot of loose rock and sections of scree travel. On the ridge and approaching the summit block, the trail dips down to the west to avoid the spires. Finally, the trail turns east and scrambles up a Class 3 / Class 4 gully to reach the final saddle.
