Vault toilets are available at the Upper and Lower Pinal Peak Campgrounds at the top and at the CCC Trailhead at the bottom.

Description

Like all the trails in the Pinal Mountains, Sixshooter Canyon is open in any direction, but is most popular with cyclists as a downhill route. Expect bikers on this popular trail.

From the Ferndell Trailhead, the Sixshooter Canyon Trail immediately heads down smooth but very steep singletrack to the junction with the Telephone Trail at the bottom of the canyon. It then enters a gentle climb along the south wall of the canyon on easy singletrack with expansive views of the city of Globe, the Four Peaks, and the Sierra Ancha. The switchbacks at the end of the traverse are narrow and exposed.

Autumn visitors will enjoy the colorful oak and maple foliage along the descent. Just past a fence gate (close it when you're done, as this area is used for cattle grazing), the trail joins Forest Road 112.
