Description

From the trailhead, the trail descends down towards the kiosk, then on to Perkinstown Loop. The signs are a bit confusing here, since they don't properly correspond to the map that's shown on the Town of Wells website. This trail continues straight forward, past both spurs of Perkinstown Loop, and arcs to the right.

Despite the signs, this trail has been heavily utilized by ATV's, ruining the tread of the trail. The trail continues to a sign, at the first edge of the boundary, stating "WCC Hiking Trail Ends". The trail actually continues along the edge of the boundary until it ends at the second boundary that's unsigned. You'll have to turn back from here and travel the trail back to the start.

* It's unclear why the sign states that Barbara's Trail is 2.3 miles, when you have to turn back 1 mile short of that distance.

Flora & Fauna

Flora: Eastern Hemlock, Oak, White Pine.
Fauna: Snow Fleas (aka Springtails).
