Need to Know
There was one gully where we were happy to have hiking poles for balance - may have been cleaned up by now (2025).
Runner Notes
Should have good ankle support.
Description
This trail has a number of steepish ups and downs, runs along the ridgetop on the ridge NE of Green Mountain and N of Gold Mountain. It runs from the end of one logging road (Watershed Spur) to the end of another (GM5). No motorized vehicles, open to mountain bikes, great for alternative hiking.
Route:
Go out
Gold Creek Trail, after 1/2 mile go ahead across the little bridge rather than left up to Green Mtn Vista.
Continue Davis trail, 2 miles, turning left at the stop sign and go on to the gravel road, another 0.4 miles (GM 4/5)
Right on GM 5, past blue gate, and climb almost 2 miles
At top there's a clearing straight ahead (and a decent picnic spot to the left) - go straight ahead on the trail that leads into the woods, and runs south close to the ridgetop about 2 miles.
The trail ends near the end of GM 45, 1 mile down to return back on Davis.
