At one time, this trail started from the end of Enid Melrose Road, but the lower section has been decommissioned. Now, the trail starts from the top of the Evergreen Link Trail and climbs up to Speckled Mountain. From the top of Evergreen Link Trail, there is still a remaining spur of the Cold Brook Trail that descends down to the Forest Boundary, but that's as far as the lower half goes.

The trail ascends the ridge and enters into the Speckled - Caribou Mountain Wilderness. The trail traverses over rocky slab with many excellent views along the way.

Flora: Wintergreen, White Pine, Birch, Crowberry, Reindeer Lichen, Sheep Laurel, Spruce.
Fauna: Coyote (tracks and scat), Black-capped Chickadees, Nuthatch, Woodpecker, Red Squirrel.
