Need to Know

Parking at the North Peavine Trail trailhead is free and spacious.

Description

From the north Peavine Trail trailhead just off of AZ 89A, the north section of the Peavine Trail jogs east, then north under the freeway, and then back to the west to rejoin the old railroad grade. After traveling north on the railroad grade about 3/4 mile, the trail comes to an old railroad trestle crossing Granite Creek. This is worth stopping to look at.

From the trestle, the trail leaves the railroad grade and follows the east bank of Granite Creek NNE along a road between two barbed wire fences. At the 4-mile mark, the trail ends at a gate. A sign at the dead-end promises a future continuation to Chino Valley.

The only return option is back along the same route.
