The trail initially follows an old dirt road contouring the hillside. After half a mile, you cross a creek twice in short succession and then stay on the western side of the creek. You steadily gain elevation with increasingly better views of Fobes Canyon and Fobes Ranch the head of the canyon. The trail makes a large switchback before making the final ascent to Fobes Saddle. Straight ahead is Spitler Peak. Reach PCT: Warner Springs to Highway 10 (Cabazon) at 2 miles.
