Features Historical Significance

Park in the small clearing opposite the locked gate that was once access to the now closed parking area 'Parcheggio Eremo di San Guielmo' as shown on Google maps. Enter on foot to the right of the locked gate.

Description

The path is easy to follow. You'll pass ruins of the Aqueduct of Ximenes, as well as various places where San Guglielmo rested and prayed. At the old mill you'll find connections to sentieri 110 and 113 and picnic tables. Most of the hermitage is fenced off (I presume to avoid vandalism) but you can peer through the windows of the church.

At the rear of the hermitage, past the picnic tables and the creek, sentiero 101 becomes 111, a short (1km) but steep climb to a panoramic view. 111 connects to 114 and the other end of 110 above the panorama. You may wish to make a loop from sentieri 101, 111 and 110 (instead of running in and out along 101). Allow three hours for the 7km circuit if you have reasonable fitness.
