Description

This trail closely follows the shoreline of Lake Hennessey. For the first mile, you run along trees covered in a multitude of lichen. After passing the Conn Peak Trail, you are in the open, passing through wetlands with plenty of birding opportunities. The trail makes a hairpin curve at 2 miles, passing Old Man's Beard Trail and Sam the Eagle Trail before continuing along the shore. Reach the parking lot at Conn Valley Road at 3.3 miles.

Flora & Fauna

This is a popular birding trail maintained by the Napa-Solano Audubon Society. Signs along the trail give you more details about the Western Grebe, Osprey, Red-Winged Blackbird, Great Blue Heron, Ruddy Duck, Killdeer, Bald Eagle, Belted Kingfisher, and White-Breasted Nuthatch.
