Dogs Leashed
Description
This loop around Prairie Lake in the Willow Waterhole Greenspace is the only trail with a direct connection to adjacent residential neighborhoods. Located entirely east of S. Post Oak, this trail doesn't have the advantage of shade trees like the trails to the west, but the neighborhood access and the parking area on Gasmer are good entry points to the Greenspace, with a traffic signal and pedestrian crossing of S. Post Oak at Gasmer.
The Willow Waterhole Greenspace is described as:
"Tucked away in the southwest Houston neighborhood of Westbury just south of Meyerland is a stunning gem of nature still relatively unknown to Houstonians. Willow Waterhole Greenspace is a 300-plus-acre network of lakes, prairie, marsh, islands, native plants, wildlife, and park amenities. This unusual urban setting is designed to protect against Houston's inevitable flooding and to bring the community together for conservation, education, and recreation."
