Need to Know

Free Pima County parking at El Camino del Cerro Trailhead.

Runner Notes

There are areas of medium loose rock and narrow paths through cacti.

Description

Nice trail, varied terrain through washes and ridge climbs. Can be rocky and one needs to be watchful of cacti close to trail. Some cacti have fallen into trail that can be easily be picked up by shoes. The trail can be difficult to follow at times because the cairns are sometimes spaced far apart and it appears to be a little used trail. Foot paths are not always clear to follow. The little spur in the beginning was a time when we were off the trail.

Flora & Fauna

Desert trees and cacti.
