Starting from the Line Shack trail on Meadow Mountain, this trail crosses grassy, open fields over mostly level ground. The skinny path threads through some scattered aspen groves before crossing a small seasonal stream. Views south and west towards Minturn and Battle Mountain. Enjoy wildflowers in the spring, and golden aspens in the fall.

Soon the trail heads downhill over a nose and into a low grove of manzanita and scrub oak. This section of trail was improved by switchbacking and berming in 2021. The few steeper sections here are over quickly. Continue downhill and cross a pretty wooden bridge over Grouse Creek. This trail traverses a little bit more meadow before ending at a T-junction with Lower West Grouse Creek Trail #2129.
