Description

This segment of the Florida National Scenic Trail (also known as the Florida Trail) starts at Panorama Dr, where a short connector trail offers access to a parking area for hikers. The trail winds generally south through the forest, weaving through the trees with a variety of twists and turns. The trail is well marked, however, so the risk of losing one's way is minimal. About 1/4 mile from Panorama Dr is a small campsite for through-hikers with a fire pit and space for a couple tents.

As the trail continues south it crosses several small streams and bridges are in place to make crossing easy. Towards the southern end of the segment the trail borders private land and there are other paths intersecting, but again trail markers are present to ensure one stays on the correct path. At the southern end of the segment the trail ends at Whispering Forest Trail, a small dirt road. Hikers can follow this road to the south, then turn east on Curryville road for about 1/2 mile before coming to the Chuluota Wilderness Area, where the FNST leaves the road and continues south.
