Dry River/Badlands Rock Loop

The trail goes through most of the different regions of the Oregon Badlands Wilderness. Starting along the sagebrush flats of the Dry River Trail, then entering the more forested region near the junction with the High Desert Trail and ending through the volcanic jumble of Badlands Rock Trail before returning to the trailhead.

No water along trail

The loop trail starts at the Badlands Rock trailhead, heads northeast along the Dry River Trail. At the junction with the High Desert Trail (which continues in a northeast direction) take the left trail and continue on the Dry River Trail in a northwest direction. At the junction with the Tumulus Trail, take the Tumulus Trail in a southwest direction for about 1/2 mile until it meets the Badlands Rock Trail. Continue south along the Badlands Rock Trail in a southerly direction as it passes Badlands Rock and returns to the trailhead.
