You'll need to cross a road to access from the paved parking lot, or alternatively you may park in the smaller gravel lot at the north end of this segment.

This trail connects to runner's loop which circles around the perimeter of the recreation area adjacent to the end of the greenway.

From the paved parking lot for Happy Valley Park, cross the road and bridge to where the greenway connects to the sidewalk and following the trail north along the Yadkin River to a large picnic shelter. The trail there splits off to a terminated circle near the water or continues around to another unpaved parking area. There is also an entrance here to the ball fields across from the school.
