Description

The lower section of this trail is relatively flat and easy. Just after the 1.5 mile mark, the trail turns left and makes a steep climb up to the ridge above. This section of trail is not easy. However the determined runner will enjoy spectacular views.

The ridge is high enough that it looks clear over the surrounding East Bay hills revealing an unobstructed view of the San Francisco peninsula. On a clear day you can see as far south as Palo Alto and as far north as San Francisco downtown.

At the 2.15 mile mark, the hardest section of the run is over and there is a well-placed park bench to take a rest and enjoy the view. The top return section of the trail along the ridge is relatively level before reconnecting to the Rocky Ridge Trail.
