Features River/Creek

Western end of trail crosses Bear Creek. While Bear Creak is dry most of the year, it could become difficult/hazardous to cross after rain.

Description

One of the few single singletrack trails in Briones, this is a good option if you're looking for a less trafficked route out of the Bear Creek staging area. Start this run at the ranger's kiosk and head south. Run across the lawn/picnic area towards the treeline. Look for trail marker #3.

Once you locate the trail marker, the trail will take a short descent before crossing Bear Creek. There is no bridge across Bear Creek. During summer and fall this should not be too difficult (see note). Once across the creek the rest of trail is easy to follow and obstacle free. The western end of the trail will skirt a fence line around a scenic picnic area before connecting to the Seaborg Trail.
