The eastern access to the trail is at the Baker Road Pocket Park at the corner of Allview Lane and Baker Road. This asphalt segment runs south to a signalized intersection with Kingsland Blvd. There are sidewalks along Kingsland in both directions. The sidewalk on the south side of Kingsland Blvd offers access to the George Bush Hike and Bike Trail about one mile to the east.

The trail continues south to the Gary and Bonnie Trietsch Park, which has a small covered rest area. At this point the trail is concrete and tracks west then north to the west end at Kingsland Blvd.
