You can enjoy stunning views and some amazing history as you run this trail. You can do it on your own or as part of a tour group if you want more guidance.
Starting in Prionia, this run winds up the valley and east and southern ridge of Mount Olympus. You can do the run in a single very long day, but most people recommend taking two or even three and staying at a rifugio along the way. If you choose to go without a guide, use caution! The trail can be difficult to follow and often skirts cliff edges. Weather can turn quickly and you should not summit if a storm is rolling in.
From the trailhead, head up the valley on a trail that follows a babbling river. As you climb the trail gets more rugged and rocky. Don't take this out-and-back lightly as it can really pose a challenge. Take your time and enjoy the run. It's not a race to the top, especially if you have a nice comfy bed at a rifugio waiting for you.
