Need to Know

Civilian runners can get a day pass or 90-day visitor's pass at the Tulley Gate Visitor Center.

Description

This trail starts at the Loop Trail in Accotink Bay Wildlife Refuge at Fort Belvoir and runs along and above the marsh basin out to the parking lot for the Fort Belvoir Recreation Area. I typically access the trail by parking at the Tulley Gate Visitor Center parking lot trailhead.

It has varied surfaces, from sandy river rock to smooth dirt, as well as some hilly sections with lots of roots. It has boardwalks over almost all of the wet areas.
