Overview

Trail is well blazed and well used, so easy to follow. This route is the perimeter, but you can also use other trails in Hadlock to cut across the middle and make the run shorter or longer. Adding the out-and-back to Range Road provides additional mileage, and directly across Range Road is the entrance to Rines Forest. There are connectors from here to Blackstrap Preserve and Community Park. Mountain bikers use this trail frequently.

Need to Know

Parking lot is easy to miss as you drive along Hadlock Road, so be watchful. Lot will hold 10 or so cars and is free.

Runner Notes

There are rooty and rocky sections, but this trail is overall fairly easy to navigate. No significant inclines.

Description

This trail features somewhat technical footing, but very little elevation change, so counts as a nice introductory run. The white trail leads you out of the parking lot and joins up with the blue trail (and is part of the Cross Falmouth trail). There really isn't much to write home about; this is a very mellow trail that winds its way along to join up with red, and then the yellow Perimeter Trail. This will get you the circumference of the trail area, and there are several opportunities to pick berries in the summer.

There are a few very small streams in Hadlock, which generally are not difficult crossings and have conveniently located rocks to step on in spring. The Green Trail and the Rines Trail and will take you out of Hadlock to Rines Forest. Nice, easy going, runable trails in Hadlock.

Flora & Fauna

Blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries in season.
