To get to the Gurten, you can take the tram to Wabern and then walk up to the cable car that will take you to the top, or drive to the covered parking just below the cable car station.

Great uphill training route starting from the bottom of the cable car until the top of the Gurtner. At the top, there are additional routes of varying lengths for every level.

Bern is a beautiful and historic city. It is full of architectural, historical, and natural points of interest, and has plenty to do for everyone. One of my favorite spots in Bern is the Gurten. It is the local mountain and host to the famous annual music festival. However, it is not the festival that draws me here (although it is very fun—for those interested, find more information here), but the beautiful and peaceful scenery.

It overlooks the city and the Aare. In the distance you can also see alps, such as the Eiger, the Mönch, and the Jungfrau. You can see far over beautiful fields, forests, and valleys, and can go for an easy run, suitable for every age.
