A trail through a mossy coastal forest to connect with other Cape Mountain trails.

Bruce Hope

Features -none-

The roads to the Dry Lake Trailhead are open all year.

Need to Know

The 17 miles of trails around Cape Mountain were designed to be shared by horses and runners. Thus, for foot traffic, these trails are wide, gently-graded, brush free, and easy to follow. There are trail maps at the major trail junctions (these are set high so someone on a horse can read them—runners may have to stretch to read them). Just remember to practice good trail etiquette and yield the trail to horses.

Description

The Princess Tasha Trail leaves the Dry Lake Trailhead and, in 0.4 miles, climbs easily to a 4-way junction with the Lookout Loop Trail #1329.2 and the Cape Mountain Trail #1329.3. Turn right (north) here to stay on the Princess Tasha as it contours easily along the ridge for another 0.4 miles to its end at the Olson Viewpoint. The trail continues on past the viewpoint, only now it is the Scurvey Ridge Trail #1329.5. This transition in trail names isn't obvious but, fortunately, the tread is clear.
