Description

This trail begins from the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden. Runners start under a semi-circle wooden pergola where they can learn all about how to better protect your home from wildfires through defensible space and plant choices. The early portion of the trail is designed for families with little ones as the trail is wide, well graded and defined.

This portion of the trail turns into a short wide singletrack dirt trail which ends at an interactive sundial. The sundial has a person stand in the center with hands together over their head to show what time it is; accurate times confirmed against a cell phone clock.

The remainder of the trail is a well defined dirt singletrack and far less maintained; trail adjacent plants can be overgrown. There are more informational signs along this portion of the trail. The trails discuss the area history and fauna.
