Parking at the Glen Alps parking lot requires a $5 per day fee or an AK State Park Pass.

At an elevation of 4660 ft., the Wedge is #96 of the 120 Chugach State Park Peaks as listed on Peakbagger.com. While there are many open country routes up this mountain, this is the most popular and easiest route.

The start of this route is typically accessed from the Ship Lake Pass Trail via the Powerline Pass Trail from the Glen Alps trailhead. From Ship Lake Pass, head up the south leg of the saddle up a rocky trail to the summit. At the top, you get good views of Ship Lake valley, Powerline and the Anchorage bowl.

This route has an intermediate rating due to its grade.
