Makes for a good trail run but some clay sections can get slick after a heavy rain.

The run can either be started from across the street of North East High School or from the Elk Neck State Forest Ranger Station. The Pete Bond Scenic Overlook is approximately 1.5 miles from North East High School and 0.5 miles from the Elk Neck State Forest Ranger Station. The trail is well marked by white lighthouse trail markers. If you continue East across the dirt road by the ranger station, you can access the Mason Dixon Trail system.

Mixed deciduous and evergreen trees with an under story of mountain laurel and azaleas. Azaleas lining the trail bloom in the spring.
