Description

One highlight of this trail is the beaver pond you'll pass. The pond as two dams instead of the usual one. While the trail is rocky in places (be sure to have on sturdy ankle-protecting footwear) it has a pleasant mix of cool forest and open meadows.

The trail is open to ATVs and motorcycles. We encountered two motorcyclists the day we were on the trail. They'd been working on cutting away trees that had fallen across the trail, so we appreciated their efforts.
An unmarked side track gets you down to pretty January Reservoir.
